NEW IN BEAUTY | DRUGSTORE/CHEMIST BUYS THAT ARE WORTH IT

I'm speaking for myself here but I think some people will agree that, when spending money on make up I tend to steer towards buying higher end brands because I'd rather spend my money on more luxury products because they tend to be better quality. However I was on the boots website the other day and was pretty stoked to find that they stocked NYX and they had some of the matte lip creams in stock (that always be seem to sold out everywhere else) - so I decided to purchase three colours along with a few other bits.

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream | Purchase Here
After hearing lots about this product on YouTube as well as seeing them pop up on my Instagram feed every day I decided to give them a try. Firstly I think that they are a fab price, for someone that usually spends £15.50 on a matte mac lipstick I was happy to get near enough three for that price. They smell really lovely and are a dream to apply, so much so that you don't need to use a lip liner to make sure that your lips are neat and tidy. The formula is really nice, I found that they take about 15 minutes to dry completely matte, but it they aren't sticky which is a bonus - this product can be drying on the lips but not so much so that you need to apply a balm/lip gloss. The lasting power is ok, I found that applying them at around 8am meant they lasted to around 12ish, which is about the same as a MAC lipstick. For £5.50 each, they are a total bargain and you will be very impressed with them, "Zurich" is a definite dupe of "Please Me" from MAC. NYX Glide on Lip Pencil | Purchase Here
Again, after hearing such rave reviews of the lip pencils from NYX and finding out that from another blogger that all lip pencils are made the same - no matter which brand they are from. So, I thought instead of spending £12.50 on a MAC liner, why not spend less than half the price on a NYX one - there's not really anything bad to say about this liner, it goes on so smoothly, I guess hence the name "glide on pencil", it's super long lasting and such a lovely colour. If you are after lip pencils that you'd like to spend a little less money on but still get the high end value, then I suggest purchasing some of these. This is the perfect "Red Tape" liner to go with MAC Retro Matte Ruby Woo.

Soap & Glory Solar Powder Bronzer | Purchase Here
After seeing Gabby talk about this bronzer on YouTube for the longest time I knew I wanted to try it for myself and after seeing it on the Boots website with £2 off (the offer is still on) then it a definite winner. If you are after a light contour that will give your face a nice shape then this the perfect product for you.

Soap & Glory Glow All Out Highlight & Sculpt Cheek Stick | Purchase Here
This is the perfect edition to your make up collection, being an exact dupe of the NARS multiple for less than half the price, these sticks come in super handy when you want to add that chic cream highlight to your cheek bone, a long with your cupids bow and under your eyebrow. As you can see from the pictures, this highlight has a super shine to it.

  4. I was in the queue at Superdrug the other day and saw a L'Oreal matte lipstick pop up on my Pinterest and ran over to pick one up thinking it looked good. After reading this I don't know why I didn't take time to look at the NYX counter - Zurich does look absolutely incredible! x
