I have never done one of these before, you don't really see these sort of posts on blogs as they are normally up on the vast majority of YouTube channels however I would like to share with those of you that take the time out to read my blog, what I have been loving recently make-up wise...
MAC Cherish lipstick, this was a present that my bestie bought me back from her hols in New York. It's a gorgeous nude colour that is great for anyone who is looking for a 'Kylie Jenner inspired' look but doesn't really want to go the full shebang and get the complete matte 90's nude lip. It's a satin lipstick so it has a bit of shine to it, it's a great lipstick to start your collection as it's what I call an all rounder, it goes with every outfit and make up look.
Another product from MAC that I have also been loving is the nice 'n' spicy long-wear lip liner, this is the jump up to the 90's nude kind of look that has been everywhere at the moment. The reason why I love this lip liner because is because it stays on for such a super duper long time. It doesn't smudge or wear away easily, I suggest it is an excellent product to use when going out for dinner because it simply won't come off when you're eating, this way you don't have to keep scooting off to the toilet to re-apply or check if its on your teeth. It is very similar to the normal lip liner 'spice' this one may be a bit darker though.
Another make up item but this time it is a drugstore goldie, the Collection Lasting Perfection concealer, I have been loving this concealer SO MUCH. I know literally everybody goes on about this product but it is definitely worth the hype, it is so creamy and glides on to the skin so well, also the staying power on this bad boy is immense. It covers all those dark circles under the eyes and also works really well for any parts of the face that you want to contour. I use it pretty much every day to cover any blemishes or hide the bags under my eyes. I find it also works well with the 'Wake Me Up' concealer from Rimmel. This product is £4.19, so very affordable and so worth it, if you're looking for a cheap alternative to a high-end concealer, then this is the one you want. I use the colour fair, as you can see from the pic below. :)
So when it comes to applying your make-up there are a lot of different sorts of brushes and sponges that you can use. For about 2 months now I have been using this Real Techniques Expert Face brush, if I want a make-up look where my foundation is really worked into the face. I can't tell you how much easier I found it applying my Liz Earle foundation with this brush instead of my fingers. I love the way that it is quite a firm brush but the bristles themselves are soft and gentle on the face, it also makes applying the foundation super quick and easy, so if you are after a super quick look but want a decent coverage I would recommend this brush. The shape of the brush is also excellent, with the flat bottom you can stand them up and they won't fall over, great for me as my brushes are always dropping off my sides due to them rolling around. This brush can be purchased in Superdrug, Boots or ASDA, I know a lot of other shops stock it too but they are the most accessible and it will set you back about a tenner, not too bad!
