Current Favourites

I have never done one of these before, you don't really see these sort of posts on blogs as they are normally up on the vast majority of YouTube channels however I would like to share with those of you that take the time out to read my blog, what I have been loving recently make-up wise...

MAC Cherish lipstick, this was a present that my bestie bought me back from her hols in New York. It's a gorgeous nude colour that is great for anyone who is looking for a 'Kylie Jenner inspired' look but doesn't really want to go the full shebang and get the complete matte 90's nude lip. It's a satin lipstick so it has a bit of shine to it, it's a great lipstick to start your collection as it's what I call an all rounder, it goes with every outfit and make up look.

Another product from MAC that I have also been loving is the nice 'n' spicy long-wear lip liner, this is the jump up to the 90's nude kind of look that has been everywhere at the moment. The reason why I love this lip liner because is because it stays on for such a super duper long time. It doesn't smudge or wear away easily, I suggest it is an excellent product to use when going out for dinner because it simply won't come off when you're eating, this way you don't have to keep scooting off to the toilet to re-apply or check if its on your teeth. It is very similar to the normal lip liner 'spice' this one may be a bit darker though.

Another make up item but this time it is a drugstore goldie, the Collection Lasting Perfection concealer, I have been loving this concealer SO MUCH. I know literally everybody goes on about this product but it is definitely worth the hype, it is so creamy and glides on to the skin so well, also the staying power on this bad boy is immense. It covers all those dark circles under the eyes and also works really well for any parts of the face that you want to contour. I use it pretty much every day to cover any blemishes or hide the bags under my eyes. I find it also works well with the 'Wake Me Up' concealer from Rimmel. This product is £4.19, so very affordable and so worth it, if you're looking for a cheap alternative to a high-end concealer, then this is the one you want. I use the colour fair, as you can see from the pic below. :)

So when it comes to applying your make-up there are a lot of different sorts of brushes and sponges that you can use. For about 2 months now I have been using this Real Techniques Expert Face brush, if I want a make-up look where my foundation is really worked into the face. I can't tell you how much easier I found it applying my Liz Earle foundation with this brush instead of my fingers. I love the way that it is quite a firm brush but the bristles themselves are soft and gentle on the face, it also makes applying the foundation super quick and easy, so if you are after a super quick look but want a decent coverage I would recommend this brush. The shape of the brush is also excellent, with the flat bottom you can stand them up and they won't fall over, great for me as my brushes are always dropping off my sides due to them rolling around. This brush can be purchased in Superdrug, Boots or ASDA, I know a lot of other shops stock it too but they are the most accessible and it will set you back about a tenner, not too bad!

Major Hydration Giirrrrrrrl

I actually can not get enough of Liz Earle products, I think that this brand has got to be the best skin care range ever, not only does it sooth and clear your skin in to a much better state than any other brand I know, it is very affordable and easy to purchase.

This product I purchased on a flight, it came in a travel kit, which I must say I was pretty delighted with, it came with lots of different bits and pieces but this is my favourite.

It's the Intensive Nourishing Treatment Mask, it is widely recommended that you should give your skin a good nourishing and rehydrating at least once a week, with any sort of mask or creams that you fancy however I really do recommend this one. I've noticed that if I have a break-out of spots, as soon as I use this my skin feels a lot smoother and the flare ups on my face aren't as visible, it definitely sooths the problem areas. It also helps when your face feels really worn-down and dry, I have also often noticed that my skin feels a lot firmer and plumper once I have used this.

I'd probably say the best time to use a mask is when you are relaxing in the bath or simply just reading a book/watching the TV, I use mine after I have showered. It is best to leave the mask on for 10-15 minutes, this way it can really soak into the skin and work its magic.

Keeping our skin hydrated is key and the most important way to keep our skin looking healthy. It also prevents them unwanted wrinkles or frown lines approaching any quicker than they should be. Some of the natural active ingredients include glycerine, which is a humectant (attracts water), drawing water in the atmosphere onto the skin to aid hydration and D-panthenol which is better known as pro-vitamin B5, this is necessary for the functioning of the skin and has a moisturising effect. It also helps stimulate cellular renewal, which means it's great at making the skin look great and feel firmer.

This product can be found in any sort of big department stores like Debenhams and John Lewis or large Boots stores. It also can be found on the internet.

RRP: £16

To Die For Heels and My Review of JustFab.co.uk

I first saw these heels on one of my friends at a party, basically I fell in love with them there and then. I had been looking for a pair of nude heels for a very long while but hadn't found any that matched to the exact criteria of what I liked.

They are from a site called JustFab.co.uk, let me tell you a little bit about this site, whatever you do, DO NOT be tempted into their 'VIP Membership' unless you want to be bound into a contract of paying £35 a month that I feel isn't made clear enough to you when you are buying the shoes. Luckily I noticed this before I paid any money over to them but I know some women haven't been so fortunate and have ended up checking their accounts 3-4 months down the line to realise they have paid a hefty bill to JustFab.co.uk. Which by the way ladies you do not get refunded, so just be warned! To be able to cancel the contract you have to phone within working hours, which can be a big pain if you're in full time work.

Basically they advertise on their site that if you sign up for a 'VIP Membership' you get your first pair of heels or handbag for around £8, forgetting to display in clear bold writing that once you have signed up to this membership you will be paying £35 a month there on after just so you can have your first pair for £8, it's a horrible way of enticing women into buying their products. My advice is when something seems to good to be true then it more than likely is and ALWAYS read the small print. - I can not stress this enough.

If you do ever want to buy anything on their site then I recommend just ordering it normally, i.e. not becoming a 'VIP member' because there is definitely nothing VIP about it! They do have some nice shoes and bags on their website, I will give them that.

Anyway on to a lighter note, as you can see these shoes are gorgeous and are very comfortable so I do recommend checking out the website but only pay as a normal customer not a VIP member.

Let us also talk about the dress, this dress is a casual shift material shirt dress, perfect for shopping days or low key date nights with friends. I feel like it's a kind of staple item that you can work round and style in many different ways, you can belt it or layer it under a jumper. Gorgeous for the spring and summer as it is a thin material.

Sexy Mother Blusher

This is the first time that I have bought a blusher in this consistency, normally I just go for the powder ones because they always look much easier to apply than the cream ones. I have only heard good things about this product so I decided to give it a go and see what I would make of it.

Firstly, the 3 colours that are available are all absolutely gorgeous but when it comes to blusher I tend to favour with the more coral coloured products just because I think that they suit my sort of skin tone better, so I went for the 'Onamatopeacha' (strangest name I have come across for a while, lol.)

This product is dream to work with if you're going for a natural, non heavy make up look just because the cream consistency glides on and sits better when you have very little on your face. I found when I was wearing powder underneath, it didn't blend in all that well and it actually took some of my make up off when I was trying to rub it in however when you just use a light base underneath like a BB cream or a thin layer of foundation it works great, it really brings a shine and glow to the cheeks, it gives you that kind of holiday glow. It would be a lovely product to use when going on holiday especially in the evenings when you just want to lightly enhance that tan and give yourself that extra radiance. It is also very long wearing, it lasts me a full day at work, which is extremely good considering how much my usual make up rubs off during the day.

I've found that all Soap & Glory products really are very reasonably priced and are well worth their money. This product is priced at around £9 - reasonably priced and excellent quality!

Romper & Denim

Is it ok to wear short playsuits yet? The first sign of sunshine and I am in my summer clothes, I used to think that I enjoyed the Autumn and Winter better than summer however this year I have noticed that having the longer day lit evenings and having a tiny bit more sunshine has boosted my mood no end, so I have decided that now I am summer person, yup my mind was changed that easily ha.

You get to be so much more experimental with your clothes in the summer, you can wear whatever you want and pretty much get away with it - especially at festivals and on holiday.

The playsuits from American Apparel are such a handy piece of clothing to have when it comes to layering up thinner layers in the spring. They are easy to wear and look great when worn just on their own, but adding a bit of denim can just give a little bit of edge to the outfit. I would say this playsuit is more of a casual outfit but can be dressed up or dressed down with any sort of shoes and accessories that you like. I decided to go for Converse in this instance but I have worn this before with boots and tights.

MAC Mineralize Skin Finish/Bronzer

Finding that perfect colour bronzer is actually very hard for a lot of people, it does depend on what kind of skin tone you have and what sort of colour that you like to go for when it comes to applying things on your face.

I bought this product back in October because I was looking for a bronzer, one that wasn't too orange but one that wasn't too brown (which in some cases can make you look dirty) I then come across this one, this is actually a skin finish but I use it as a bronzer because I preferred the colour of this one to the MAC bronzers, I find it works really well for me as a bronzer.

This will most definitely come in a lot more handy now we are approaching the summer months, as it will go hand in hand with having a tan and make your face look a little browner and give you more of a glow - although this product is matte it still works great with dewy foundation.

The colour is 'Give Me Sun' which suits its purpose well. I've found that it has really great staying power and lasts a lot longer than a lot of bronzers that I have used in the past.

This product is £23, quite pricey for a bronzer but it will last a hell of a long time, I have worn this non-stop since October and there is still a lot of use left in it.

Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge

Let me tell you something, this makes blending make up ten times easier than ever before. Before I started using this I was using the real techniques buffing brush, which is amazing don't get me wrong but when it came to getting under the eyes and around the nose, I definitely feel like this works a lot better because of the different shapes that his has on each side. Both the flat side and the pointier side work really well when trying to get into all the crevasses on your face - around the nose, around the eyes, on your chin and under the eyes.

How to use:
It's obviously pretty self-explanatory how you use a make-up sponge but with this one the key to getting the best finish is to damp it a little with some water and then use it to dab and blend your concealer or foundation into place.

This comes at a nice little price of £4.99, you can purchase this sponge in pretty much all beauty/drugstores and online on pretty much all beauty websites.
